Welcome to
BLOCK INSTITUTE, formerly Brooklyn School for Special Children (BSSC),
Community Residential Opportunities for Handicapped (CROH), and
Training & Rehabilitation in Useful Service (TRIUS).
Established in 1962, Block Institute is dedicated to improving the
quality of life for all people, primarily the developmentally disabled
and their families. Through our vast experience, the Agency provides
unique and individualized services. The strong partnership between our
staff and the community enables each person to achieve greater
independence and integration. We believe in the protection of every
person's civil rights, including the right to advocate for oneself and
others.
The Agency is committed to community
awareness, sensitivity, and acceptance of individuals with disabilities.
Block Institute is devoted to providing and developing environments that
