Day Treatment
Programs BLOCK INSTITUTE Day
Treatment Programs are places where adults with
developmental disabilities can learn life skills
necessary to increase their individual level of
independence and involvement within the community.
Those skills that many of us may take for granted
are carefully broken down to their most elementary
components. They are then individualized to each
person's needs and capabilities and finally taught
in a functional way in real life settings.
Programs for adults with moderate to profound
mental retardation have been developed. Goals for
the individuals who participate in our programs
may include, as appropriate:
- Basic Self-Care
- Enhanced Eating Skills
- Behavior Management
- Socialization Skills
- Community Involvement
- Vocational Skills
- Money Management
- Travel Training
